Beans Make You Gassy?
1. Go slow; add beans slowly into your diet. Start with just a tablespoon a day and build up.
2. Rinse the beans well before cooking, and soak for 8 hours prior to cooking (discard the water that you have used to soak up the beans).
3. Cook beans until very soft.
4. Add 6 bay leaves or 1 tsp of baking soda to the pot of beans while cooking, to  decrease gas production.
5. Chew well; try to eat slowly and chew well each bite.
Soaking beans before cooking helps to remove some of the indigestible sugars that cause flatulence.
Soak the beans overnight if you plan on cooking them in the morning, or during the day if you plan on cooking them in the evening.
Once the soaking is done, drain the water and rinse the beans thoroughly before cooking.
